about
"Music" features 2 of West African Griots - traditional musician, storyteller, historian, archivist and diplomat -as they say, You can only be born a griot, never became one. Babacarr Dieng on Vocal and percussion and Jally Keba Susso on Kora(West African harp) both come from long line of famous griot families in Gambia and Senegal.
They met Kay Suzuki in London through a common musician friend then got connected musically and spiritually instantly. Since then, Kay helped and recorded, produced their materials and when Kay dropped a beat in his studio, both of them instantly reacted with their instruments and recorded almost a first take improvisation. The result is this song which Babacarr sings "In Japan, Gambia, Senegal, everywhere we have music…" with his big earthy voice and Jally accompanies Babacarr with his beautiful moving Kora sounds…
